NutriAdmin allows you to create, store, and manage a collection of recipes. You can use the recipes feature for mainly two purposes:

  • To store and keep organized your recipes over time, so that you can download them with 1 click when you need to hand them in to a client
  • To add your recipes to meal plans.

This article covers how to create a recipe in NutriAdmin.

Step 1: Click on Recipes.

Step 2: Click on New Recipe new recipe button

Step 3: You will get 2 options: to create your own recipe, or to search the recipe database. The first option lets you start a recipe from scratch, whilst the second option lets you search for ideas and edit the recipes you find.

Searching the recipe database is a feature available if you are on the "popular" plan or higher. For more information, please check our pricing page.

Creating your own recipe is available in any plan. For the sake of this example, let's click on Create My Own Recipe.

After clicking, you will see a screen like the one below, containing a template for your new recipe.

Step 4: Let's start by adding an image to your recipe. To do so, hover with your mouse over the insert recipe picture here square at the top-right corner of the page. A blue upload symbol will appear. Click on the blue arrow icon to upload a picture.

When you click on upload, your browser will let you choose a picture from your computer to upload. Please take into account there are restrictions on what kinds of images you can upload.

In this example, we have uploaded a picture of an omelette. You can see the result below.

Step 5: The next step is to add a title and basic information for your recipe. Hover over the first paragraph of text in the page (the one saying Recipe for [recipe name goes here]. A blue overlay will appear. Click on the edit button (blue pencil in the middle) to edit the recipe name.

You will have the chance to type useful information such as the recipe's name, number of servings, and preparation time. You can really type anything you want, but you may find it useful to follow a consistent template to that your recipes are organized nicely as your collection grows.

When you are done editing, click on save changes. Your recipe document will be updated accordingly.

Step 6: Add ingredients to your recipe. You will need to hover with your mouse over the Ingredients paragraph, then click on the blue pencial button to edit.

You will gain access to the food editor. On this screen you can:

  • Click on categories to add common foods (e.g. Meat > Pork > Bacon).
  • Search food in the database
  • Use your own foods that you have created previously (more info).

Add a few foods to your recipe. You can click on the food amount to adjust it. Moreover, you can choose whether display food amounts in grams, ounces, or portions (learn more).

When you are done, click on Save Changes.

Step 7: Add instructions to your recipe. These should be a series of steps that will help your clients in preparing your recipe. Hover over the instructions paragraph, and click on edit. You will see something like the below on your screen.

Simply type your steps on this screen. You can click on add step, or on delete step, to adjust to your needs. When you are done, click on Save Changes.

You are almost done! This is how our example recipe looks like after editing it's image, name, ingredients, and instructions.

Additional notes: your logo will be added to recipes automatically. If you need to change it, follow the instructions on this article.

You can also add a source for your recipe, if you are using somebody else's content. It is your responsibility to have the required permissions to use other author's recipes. You can also add any other type of extra text by clicking on the Insert text button on the top-right of the screen.

Step 8: When you are done editing your recipe, you need to save it. Click on Save Recipe on the top right of the screen.

Step 9: Give your recipe a suitable name so that you are able to identify it later. Click on Save and you are ready to go!

Now that you have created and saved a recipe, you can download it as a PDF anytime, and you can come back to it by finding it under the Recipes menu on the left hand side of your screen (Step 1 on this guide).
